TGIF

Thank God it is Friday.
It's been a very long week, and one I'm glad to see end.
The weekend is going to blow. Brandy has to work tomorrow, we go to
MaMaw's on Sunday.....I really just want to hang around the house the
whole weekend and do nothing at all.
Doesn't look like that is going to happen this weekend.
*sigh*

Parent/Teacher conference last night.
PURE HELL.
Gabe's teacher scheduled us for 5:30.
Shocker, we were there at 5:25. I couldn't believe it.
I was actually early for something.
Too bad we had to stand around out in the
hall until 5:45 while she chatted
away with another teacher over nothing.
I was sooo pissed.
But we got in there and she just raved about Gabe.
He's so sweet, and follows directions so well,
I love hearing stuff like that!
His results for some kind of test(reading) came back
and he's at the advanced end.
Monday his teacher is moving him to a different reading group
where he'll do more reading by himself
and projects.
His spelling and math are both 100.
I'm so proud of my Gabey.

Then we headed off to the 6th grade hall for Alee.
It was horrible from the beginning.
We stood in line for over an hour. Crazy.
Then we get on there and I want to kill Alee.
They get checks every time they get into trouble.
4 checks and they lose the movie day at the end of the month.
Alee has 3. Ohmahgawd. I could have strangled her.
She got one for singing during class. One for dancing during class.
One for spitting on a boy(Alee swore that one was
an accident, but she still got in trouble).
Srsly could have snapped her damn head off
then and there.
She knows better than that.
Then we got to her grades.
Honestly, they weren't that bad until she got to Social Studies.
A freaking C. She failed 2 open book tests, a quiz, and
got a big ole F on some homework.
Momma was so not happy.
I don't take anything lower than a B.
She's got 4 more weeks to pull that C up and
she had best do it.
We didn't go talk to her SS teacher, I was
soo pissed after being there almost 2 hours
and then having to listen
at how bad Alee was acting.

Still getting nowhere with the desktop.
We need a cd to boot from.
The piece of crap came with all the backup stuff installed on it.
I don't understand how that's even
remotely a good idea.
Take us for example;
Shit is missing(a system config file, for starters),
and wouldn't you know it,
it needs a boot up disk to replace it.
I honestly don't know that it'd
be better for us to have this one fixed instead
of just buying a new one.
Only sucky thing is now that the desktop is crap
we have no house phone.
No computer = No MagicJack.
I don't have enough USB ports on the laptop for it,
and honestly I'm not crazy about
being tied down with a phone line, either.
Just a big headache.

Still mourning my camera.

The kids are out of school today,
fighting, tearing the house apart.
I should probably go make sure nothing's on fire down the hall.....
they're terribly quiet.

Go feets go!

The kids got their report cards today.
They were good, so we had Dominos for supper tonight.
Gabe's was good, we just need to work on tying shoes, he got a 'N' for it.
It upset him, but after I told him it was my fault he perked right up.
Even Alee was all "Your shoes don't even have shoestrings Gabe! How do you tie
something without strings?"
It is my fault...we've always bought him the shoes
with the little elastic thingies because
he's always wanted to do it himself
and not wait on anyone to tie them.
He gets rather bitchy with you if you try to help him do something.

Alee had all A's and B's.
I kinda fussed at her a little.
There was no reason for the B in reading.
The kid is mine, reading *should* be her strongest subject.
She said she gets bored in reading and just kinda zones out.
Looks like it's time to see what we can do about that one.
Her other B was in math, a 94.
Meh. I hated math, she hates math.
No biggie.

Ugh, we had to go to WalMart, too.
That place is hell.
Full of stupid people.
I hate going.
But, the food was getting a little on the low side, and tomorrow is Gabe's day to bring snacks, so it was time to brave the stupidity factor.
I hate WalMart. Did I mention that?
Cause I do. Srsly.
I did pick up another tube of mascara.
Cause, you know, the drawer full I have
just isn't enough.
I wonder if there's a Mascara Addicts group somewhere.......

Project 365: Day 5

I'm running out of willing victims.
Plus, I've lost enthusiasm for this.

"Wait a minute, Momma!"

The kids went back to school today....THANK GOD!
They were happy to go, I was happy they were going, even E was glad.
I think we were all just sick of each other :P
It almost made me dread summer break, but I'll be able to
throw them out into the yard all day long
when it's summer.  It's
just too freaking cold for that now!
The kids are praying for snow.
We've got a Winter Storm Watch from tomorrow evening through Thursday.
2-4 inches of snow, maybe.
Do you know what kind of crazy state that's going to
put the county in? Crazies everywhere!
Have I mentioned I hate snow? And cold?

Ooh, did I tell you I'm CTing for Sir Scrapalot now?  I didn't?
Well, guess what?  I'm CTing for Sir Scraplot now :P

Out with old!

Happy New Year!!
Out with the old, in with the new and all that jazz!
We hung around and just chilled all day yesterday, loads of goodies
to snack on all day and night.  The kids played, fought--it
was the usual thing here pretty much!
We headed out right after midnight to let
the kids do some sparklers--they
were HUGE! Like bigger than E huge.  Of course, it was windy
as all get out and colder than a witch's titty.

I'm not big on resolutions-I suck at keeping them.
This year I'm just aiming to procrastinate less and try to reign my temper in a bit.
We'll see how it goes. ;)

Even though I failed miserably at it last year,
I'm giving Project 365 a go again this year.
I just got so burnt out last year I didn't even want to touch
my camera anymore.
We'll see how this year goes I guess.  I'm not going to force
myself into doing it everyday if I don't feel like it.
Hmmm....maybe I should rename mine to
Project Whenever I feel like it :P

 Day 1: E's Dinosaurs

Oh Christmas.....I didn't get around to doing a Christmas post.
The kids got way more than they needed, everything they wanted, and then some.
All in all, it was a nice holiday, once you factored out the Jessica drama....and
there's always Jessica drama :/

2 out of 3....

Gabe had his first day of kindergarten today. I've been dreading this day for months. He's been looking forward to it. My heart broke when he marched his little butt out to the bus this morning like he owned it. And poor E. She was so lost without Gabey today. The first 30 minutes consisted of her crying and telling me "You have to go get bubba, Momma. I need him." She eventually cried herself to sleep :( Later she told me "You'll just have to be my best friend now, Momma, since Gabey's at school. I guess you'll do." Can't tell you how loved that made me feel, LOL! She was so glad to see him come home! She's been hanging on him since he hit the door. Personally, I'd love it if he never went back :P I caught a glimpse of my future when he said "I found these 2 girls..." He doesn't want ot saty home tomorrow, which I guess is a good thing he likes it....but gee, what's so bad about wanting to hang with Momma all day? Alee was in full guard dog mode looking out for him today. She sat with him on the bus, walked him to his room, even went to check on him at one point and make sure he and his teacher knew what bus he was getting on. I do have pictures...Alee started on Friday, I just haven't gotten around to uploading any of the photos before now.
(frames by Amanda Carlson, tape by Ami Collofello)

His teacher is really really sweet, and Gabe, of course, charmed the pants off of her ;o) Oh, the 10 boxes of crayons....each month they get a new box and they bring the old ones home. They have a little cubby on the back wall, and there's a spot to keep the extra stuff. I think he's offically got the coolest class room. They have 4 computers in the room(the other rooms only have 1). There's this little loft thing they can climb up in for reading time-they can either look at the books, or slip the headphones on and listen to a book. Once a week, someone brings bottles of water(8 ozs) and they get to keep them at their seat(they refill them at the water fountain)...just generally cool stuff :o) So, yeah, that was school!

BOTCT is over. Even though I generally complained the whole time I had fun. I'm just a complainer about these things though, it wasn't anything specific. Our last challenge produced our best LO's I think. We went with a 10 Reasons theme, and you had to scraplift 2 of your teammates. This was mine

I'm far too lazy to get you caught up on the rest of the LO's for the challenges, but they're in my gallery :o)
Did I tell you I got a guest spot this month with Amy Stoffel? I am so stoked about it!! Seriously fun stuff to scrap with! And, of course, you know I'm going to show you the LO's I've done with her goodies!!

You can find this whole collection, Flavors of Life:Summer at Scrap Orchard...or you can buy each kit separately ;o)

Lots of good stuff hitting the shelves Friday at PGD! This LO has a little of the new stuff(I have more LO's in the works, if I get them done before tomorrow night, I'll let you sneaky peek the goods), and is for an upcoming challenge

That's going to be about it for today...the kids are screaming for food, I have more scrapping to do and books to read!
Later loves!
