the end of march

i have almost met my personal goal for p365 this year.
2 more days left in march and i haven't quit, or missed a day, yet.
it's amazing. a miracle.
i rock :p

day 83: sack boy!
i didn't realize he was so hairy....
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

day 84: monster!!!
gabe got this out of the prize box friday.
of course everyone played with it.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

day 85: girly giggles
i love this shot of the girls <3
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

day 86: my birthday cupcakes at mamaw's.
31 candles minus 30 candles = 1 candle.
cause that's how old i am.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

day 87: best color in the world
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

i know what today's photo is going to be. it's gabe's first day of
ball practice. so, assuming it doesn't rain,
that will be my photo.

i think, too, i'm going to do a monthly favorites post at the end of every month.
my favorite p365 shots for the month, ya know?
obviously january, february and march will be all
together, but i think it's something i might do.
or not.
who knows.

and it's adsr time again.
amanda and i are the pot heads this year.
pure awesomeness.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
amanda rocks, no?

and yes, i'm bitching already.
i haven't done challenge 1 yet, and saw challenge 2 today.
um, the family theme is going to kill me.
i see many a layout coming out of
ps purely to piss people off.
challenge 2 is supposed to be a layout(with journaling-GAG!)
about a family member who has inspired me.
uhhh....for the most part my family
inspires me to bang my head on the wall....
i guess i could do one about being inspired to
not do drugs, take care of my kid, not be a total
loser(you get the point)....but somehow i think that
won't sit well with all the kiss ass holier than holy racers :p

it's spring!

this is going to be a long one. i have lots to gab about today,
plus p365 to catch up.
please fasten your seat belts and keep
your hands inside the vehicle.

finally, it's starting to feel like spring!
saturday it was so beautiful outside.
i threw on my bikini and
laid out. my soul
needs sunshine and heat, and the more
i get the happier i am.
i was extremely happy saturday.
and i got to work on my tan lines.
it was really cool yesterday.
today it's cold and rainy, cool again tomorrow,
but starting wednesday we're getting
close to 80. you can
bet your butt i'm going to be outside soaking up
the sunshine!

the kids are on spring break this week.
usually i dread long breaks from school. they fight.
we fight. they cry. i cry.
today hasn't been that bad.
but it's only day 1. we've still
got the rest of the week to get through. maybe being
outside and running off some of
that energy will help.

i've been reading the mortal instruments.
i really really liked city of bones. a lot.
city of ashes was meh. i had a hard time getting into it.
i think it was the whole
'oh, you're my sister/brother? great! lemme jump your bones!'
i'm about halfway through city of glass.
i like it better than the second one.
not as much as the first.
but i'm not done with it yet, so who knows.

have you been keeping up with amy's designaversary?
every day this month you'll get a freebie from the
ct. and there are games weekly.
we really had fun putting this together.
day 12 was my day, and my gift was a template.
you can still get it  >HERE<

amy also has release 2 super cute kits friday.
super super cute!
I <3 when amy and jen collab.

Songbird & Hodge Podge

This one's all business!
It's February 1st and I've got some goodies to share!

First up is Songbird Avenue.
On January 12th, the earthquake that rocked the island nation of Haiti resonated throughout the world through news organizations and the internet. Many people wondered what they can do to help, many people have contributed to charities and raised funds through whatever means they had at their disposal. Songbird Avenue, as a site devoted to charitable giving, has asked past guest designers to come together with us to create a beautiful piece of art to benefit Doctors Without Borders, just one of so many organizations committed to helping the people of Haiti. On February 1st, Port au Prince will go on sale. Over 56 designers came together to create this colorful digital scrapbooking kit, including over 100 papers, over 200 embellishments, 6 templates and 8 alpha sets. For only $8, you can purchase the kit to use to scrap your cherished memories and send help to a country and organization that needs it.

And just look...gorgeous and HUGE!

Wow, right? So what are you waiting for?
Head on over to Songbird Avenue and pick up Port au Prince now! It's only $8!

Next up is Hodge Podge!
I was asked to join the Hodge Podge team, an offer I couldn't refuse!
Today is the first challenge for the year-the letter A, and
we're making an All About ABC album.
All about whatever you want!!
Mine is going to be All About My Life--in general.
My family, my likes, dislikes, things that make me tick!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This week you're playing for $10 GC from Traci and Emily
So head on over to the Hodge Podge blog and get started!!

I've still got yesterday and today's P365 photos to dump off my camera...
I'll get around to that sometime today!

snowed in

It really did snow an assload.
And I hate snow.
The roads are relatively clear(who knew Lauderdale County had a snow plow?!)
but we stayed holed up in the house anyway :)

We've done a whole lot of nothing.
Brandy's gamed, I've puttered around PS,
the kids have played.

The DSA Scrap Off is over.
My score tanked last week. BAD.
But I expected it, I really did hate my LO.
I didn't want to be doing it...I just threw some stuff on the
page and smooshed it into the corner.

But, I really LOVE my LO this week.
ALOT.
Even if no one else does :P
Maybe it'll boost my score back up from
the dark hole it fell in to.
If not, oh well :)

Today's photo is comfort food--who can resist a grilled cheese sandwich?

I'm so behind on my uploading and junk.....
Geez,  take a week or so to do nothing but read and
I end up swamped.
Story of my life.

Still got my P365 photo for today to take-bleh.
Have I mentioned I hate P365?
Ooooh, and Amanda and I are doing adsr again this year!
We're team #36!

So, with that I am off to round up the kids for bed, get their clothes laid out for
school tomorrow, a load of laundry in the washer, take my
P365 photo, and get a LO or two done.

rainy rainy days

I so love a good thunderstorm.

It started raining about 3:30 this morning.
The thunder woke me up, well, more like the thunder woke EE up who woke me up.
Temps in the 60's and rain, pretty good week :)

I've still got to get my week 3 LO for
the DSA Scrap Off together.
I haven't even unzipped the stuff yet *sigh*
I've managed to get behind in my CT stuff....again.
And I realized I had a couple LO's that should have been uploaded weeks
ago that I never did.
So, I made myself a list for this week, on my yahoo home page since
I'm there a gajillion times a day.
I've got my CT's listed, what LO's I need to upload and when,
and how many LO's I still need to do.
We'll see how that works :P

Still chugging along with P365.
I'm taking my photos every day, I just don't get them
off the camera every day.
Meh. Whatever.

Day 19: Rivvik

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
E's Littlest Pet Shop frog.  I think she really named it Ribbit,
but I swear it sounds like Rivvik!

Look who's going to ES!!

Amanda's heading on over to ES! Come party with us tomorrow and get 25% off all her stuffs!!

still chugging along

So I'm still quitting P365 every day.
Every.Single.Day.
And then I get up and take my photo.
I've come to the conclusion that I just like to complain. :P
Not constantly, and not about everything, just certain things.
ADSR, my layouts, P365.....
things that make me step out of my little comfort zone.

I did take my photo yesterday, I just didn't dump it off the camera.
I've had the most awesome headache for about a week
now, and moving to get the camera and
card reader was more than I
felt like doing.
So today is a double post to catch up ;)

Day 11: Max ignores me, too.

Day 12: The Amazing Magnetic Acrobats
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The results of the first round of DSA Scrap Off 2010
was posted today.
I was very surprised to see I was in the 9pt list.
I didn't expect that.
Of course, it'll be a different story next week....I haven't
even unzipped the kits for this weeks challenge
yet......I don't feel like doing it :P

I'm almost done with Harry Potter.
I finished The Order of the Phoenix and The Half Blood Prince
over the weekend.
Um, I didn't like The Half Blood Prince.
I cried.
Like a baby.
Don't get me wrong, I shed a tear or two while
reading The Order of the Phoenix.
I was sad when Sirius kicked the bucket.
But I bawled like a baby when Snape offed Dumbledore.
I didn't like that at all.

I'm a few chapters into the Deathly Hollows now.
I've been told it's the one that "ties it all together and all the
pieces fall into place"......
(This from Candy, to whom HP is what TW is to me)

I dunno....I was so bummed over Dumbledore I didn't even want to finish them.

But I will.
I can't say no to a good book.....even one that makes me cry.

The kids went back to school today.
THANK GOD.
They'd been out since Tuesday.
And it was quickly becoming a matter of who was going
to be killed first-them or me.
Good thing they went back. :D

2 out of 3....

Gabe had his first day of kindergarten today. I've been dreading this day for months. He's been looking forward to it. My heart broke when he marched his little butt out to the bus this morning like he owned it. And poor E. She was so lost without Gabey today. The first 30 minutes consisted of her crying and telling me "You have to go get bubba, Momma. I need him." She eventually cried herself to sleep :( Later she told me "You'll just have to be my best friend now, Momma, since Gabey's at school. I guess you'll do." Can't tell you how loved that made me feel, LOL! She was so glad to see him come home! She's been hanging on him since he hit the door. Personally, I'd love it if he never went back :P I caught a glimpse of my future when he said "I found these 2 girls..." He doesn't want ot saty home tomorrow, which I guess is a good thing he likes it....but gee, what's so bad about wanting to hang with Momma all day? Alee was in full guard dog mode looking out for him today. She sat with him on the bus, walked him to his room, even went to check on him at one point and make sure he and his teacher knew what bus he was getting on. I do have pictures...Alee started on Friday, I just haven't gotten around to uploading any of the photos before now.
(frames by Amanda Carlson, tape by Ami Collofello)

His teacher is really really sweet, and Gabe, of course, charmed the pants off of her ;o) Oh, the 10 boxes of crayons....each month they get a new box and they bring the old ones home. They have a little cubby on the back wall, and there's a spot to keep the extra stuff. I think he's offically got the coolest class room. They have 4 computers in the room(the other rooms only have 1). There's this little loft thing they can climb up in for reading time-they can either look at the books, or slip the headphones on and listen to a book. Once a week, someone brings bottles of water(8 ozs) and they get to keep them at their seat(they refill them at the water fountain)...just generally cool stuff :o) So, yeah, that was school!

BOTCT is over. Even though I generally complained the whole time I had fun. I'm just a complainer about these things though, it wasn't anything specific. Our last challenge produced our best LO's I think. We went with a 10 Reasons theme, and you had to scraplift 2 of your teammates. This was mine

I'm far too lazy to get you caught up on the rest of the LO's for the challenges, but they're in my gallery :o)
Did I tell you I got a guest spot this month with Amy Stoffel? I am so stoked about it!! Seriously fun stuff to scrap with! And, of course, you know I'm going to show you the LO's I've done with her goodies!!

You can find this whole collection, Flavors of Life:Summer at Scrap Orchard...or you can buy each kit separately ;o)

Lots of good stuff hitting the shelves Friday at PGD! This LO has a little of the new stuff(I have more LO's in the works, if I get them done before tomorrow night, I'll let you sneaky peek the goods), and is for an upcoming challenge

That's going to be about it for today...the kids are screaming for food, I have more scrapping to do and books to read!
Later loves!

Sunday funday lazy craziness!

Summer break is in full swing! We're living outside playing. We ended up with an awesome new slipn'n slide--2 lanes with a huge splash pool and these little float thingys to slide on. The kids love it, we love it. Good times! Not to mention the loads of sunshine I've been soaking up!

The big boys(Brandy and Jay) went and shot guns today, so the kids and I hung out here around the house and watched Twilight. And I have to admit, I love the fact they get excited when Edward swoops in to save the day, or Alice goes all bad ass and rips James' head off, I love they know the words to all the songs on the soundtrack, and I love that they all have most of the movie memorized! I am such a good Momma!!

Ugh, the PlayStation kicked the bucket. We are now members of the YLOD club(that's Yellow Light of Death for you non gamers). Yay. And AJ's game is stuck inside the thing. Booooring. I had to bust out our prehistoric dvd player to watch Twilight on(we've had that huge thing for 11 years, and it still works! But I miss the Blu-Rays :( ) We're waiting on a prepaid mailing label to be emailed so we can ship it in to be fixed(thank god we bought the 2 year extended warranty!!) The lady said if we ship it UPS(and we will) that we will have it back in 7-10 days, which is loads better than the month and a half it was gone the first time we had to send it in. I swear the 40 gigs are a joke. And they know it, too, that's why they quit making them. We've decided our Christmas present this year is going to be a new PS3. At the very least we'll have a back up--plus that will let us be able to get our LAN going and actually play online together(we did that with SWBFII on the PS2 and man we had a blast!!)

Yesterday was Mamaw's 89th Birhtday party. She's such a party pooper--she sat in the living room while we were all at the table with the cake singing Happy Birthday. She said "I can hear yall just fine from in here." Cake was good :) We made rough final plans for the kids party this summer. We're just having one big party for them. Gabe's birthday is July 25, E's is Aug 11, Mason is Aug 15, and Alee is Aug 23. We thought it'd just be better for everyone to have one big birthday party. Granny's going to make Masey a little smash cake, and we'll get some cupcakes or something from EW James or something. Now all we have to do is settle on a date, LOL!
Mason is just about walking. He's cruising(and climbing) on everything, and he'll take a couple steps on his own. He took 3 steps to me yesterday and promptly ripped my earring out! Thankfully they have the little hing thing so it only hurt like crap and didn't actually rip my ear.
I got tons of cute photos yesterday, wanna see a few of my faves?(Aherm, due to reasons I'm not getting in to, I'm watermarking my photos now, and it's going to be pretty obnoxious. If you've got access to my dropshots you'll be able to enjoy the not obnoxious ones)

Next weekend is our family vacation to Reelfoot. we're only doing 2 days and one night this time, and I'm not happy about it at all. It's not enough time, we're going to be rushed-and when I fell rushed I get cranky. I'm just not happy. But I'll suck it up and try to be nice. Try being the kid word. MawMaw's been an uber bitch about everything, but you really can't fight back with someone that old. I'm Jess and I will be up to our usual stuff.

Little bit of business for ya!

It's time for Voting for the Pixel Gypsy Elite Scrapper of the Year! Let me tell ya, Scott and Sherrie whipped up an awesome way to vote! It is so neat, I spent so much time playing with it! All of the entrants are just absolutely amazing, and it's not an easy vote! But there's a scale of 1-5 for each layout, which makes it a little better instead of sitting there trying to pick one favorite! And, when you vote, you get a $5 coupon good for your next order, no minimum purchase! So click on the banner and head on over and vote already!

and some LO's for ya!

Ami's Sweet Tweet's mini

Ashley's He Sells Sea Shells

So that's pretty much all I've got today. The kids are hungry and cranky!
