Dear Alice.....

You knew this was coming, right?
I've been working on my "review" off and on.
We've had family stuffs to do and it's eaten
up a lot of my time.

We went Friday night to see New Moon...we had tickets for the 9:50 show.
Everything earlier was sold out.
And the day after, too.
You would not believe the stack of papers where people had bought
their tickets from Fandango.
Monstrous pile. Srsly.

Let's start with the soundtrack with the movie.
I like it a bit better now that I've
 seen the movie. I'm more
partial to the score than I am the actual soundtrack,
but it doesn't make my ears bleed quite as bad
as it did when I first listened to it.
It'll never make my favorites list.

Things I didn't like in the movie:

The car.
I understand Volvo gave them a different car.
I understand Chris Weitz not wanting to paint it silver
and try to pass it off as the same as in Twilight.
I understand, really I do.
Doesn't mean I like it.

The birthday party.
Sigh.  I just wasn't feeling it.
Bella's cut wasn't doing it for me.  Carlisle and Bella
were like super duper cozy while he stitched her up.
I wanted the story about Edward and his mother.

Jasper's wig.
Poor boy.
I'd have put up a fight if they tried to put that on my head.

 Not enough Emmett.
Srsly.
There could have been way more Emmett.  Even if it was just a photo of
him on the wall or something.  Just more.

The cliff dive.
I was disappointed.
The big crashing wave--didn't feel it at all.

The Edward visions.
They weren't bad.  They weren't good, either.
Sorta cheesy, especially the one in the water, after Bella
dives off the cliff.....kinda like dead fishes in the water.

The porsche.
Ok, not the car so much as the bad green screened drive.

Edward's topless reveal.
Um, am I the only one who thinks his
nippys were a little off? Methinks they
should have started the airbrushing a little lower
down so his man boobs didn't look like
they were dragging the floor.
And what up with the "scar" around lefty?
It looks like someone ate some Edward nipple for lunch.

Demitri and Felix.
Yah. So not what I pictured.
Disappointment.

Alice's Vision of Vampy Bella.
Um, WTF?
My exact words during the movie were
"ohmahgawd. Srsly? Are you effing kidding me?"
Not right. Downright silly.

Where was Victoria?
I was disappointed we saw so little of her.

Things I liked in the movie:

The mirror and Edward's sparklies.
Perfection. It was good.

Bella's gray hair.
Loved that convo between her and Charlie.
Loved how she jumped up to check for
that gray hair. I giggled.
Alee leaned over and whispered "That is so you, Momma."

Alice.
Everything Alice.
I love Alice.  Loved how she jumped over
the rails to give Bella her present.  Loved the witty, sarcastic
Alice comments "As soon as you put the dog out"....
how can you not love Alice??

The nighttime patrons of the arts:
I loved the way the painting
came to life. Not so much the outfits, but
that's besides the point.

Dear Alice.
Time Passes.
O.M.G.
I *loved* the emails.
Maybe my favorite part.

Jake.
Good stuff.  He had some awesome Jakeish lines-
"Age is just a number baby"..... too bad he's
a kid.  Srsly. He's like really 17.
In real life. Srsly.

The garage.
I loved the whole little thing with
Jake and Bella fixing the bikes.

Jessica.
I really like Jessica this go round.
"Hey! What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Movie night with Bel-la..."

Gold.

Face Punch.
Hahahahahaha! Good stuff!

Hunting the wolves.
A.K.A. How perfect was Victoria?
Perfection. Perfect perfection.
The way Victoria should have looked in Twilight.
I loved her. I loved watching the pack chase her.

The Pack.
I was slightly impressed with the wolves.
I pictured them taller, but all in all
I was quite pleased.

Emily.
They nailed it. The end.

Jane.
I admit, at first I balked at Dakota Fanning
playing Jane.  I couldn't make it
work in my head.
But I was wrong. She was good.

The vote.
Emmett.  He was there...I kinda didn't notice anything
else about this scene.
But I'm glad they included it.

The proposal.
Dahdahduuuuuuuuuuum.....
Gah! I really did like the part, but was it
necessary to leave me in my
seat with my mouth hanging open like that?

So yes, I loved New Moon. Even more than I
thought I would.  And we've seen it twice.

Dear Geek Squad.......You FAIL.

So my wonderful, beautiful Vaio was dying. Randomly shutting off at the most inconvenient times. And then it got worse....you'd turn it on, 5 minutes later it shut off. 1 hour later, you could get it to come back on, only to repeat the process. I was 98% sure it was the CPU overheating. I was pretty sure that'd call for them shipping it off to Sony to be repaired. So, last night we headed to Jackson to take my baby back to Best Buy(gotta love a warranty).

Let me tell you how I envisioned this happening; We'd walk up to the Geek Squad desk, and someone would immediately ask what was wrong. I'd tell them my baby was overheating and shutting off almost constantly. They would, of course, turn it on and watch it turn off, smile at me sympathetically even, maybe. Then I would be told they were shipping it off to Sony for them to repair, and it would take x amount of time.

Now, let me tell you how things really went down; We walked to the Geek Squad counter, stood there for almost a minute while the 7 or 8 people behind it laughed and talked. Finally, a guy comes up to us(looking completely put out he had to leave his group of friends and actually do his job), we tell him what's happening. The guy stands there, drumming his hands on the counter looking at us like we're completely effing insane for a solid 2 minutes. I shit you not. 2 minutes. Bang-bang-tap-drum-tap-bang-drum-tap-tap. Stare.Stare.Eyeroll.Stare.Sigh.Stare. 2 minutes of this. Eventually he grabs my laptop spins it around, turns it on, and says log in(to Brandy, cause you know, I'm a girl and all...I can't possibly begin to comprehend logging onto my laptop, let alone even begin to imagine what could possibly be causing it to power off). He says he's going to stress the system. Ok, good deal, you do that, it'll shut off, we'll discuss what we're going to do. HA! So, of course, it shuts off, but he's all "I don't know if it shut down or the battery died." Srsly? You don't know? Here's a clue, buddy...perhaps if you stayed within viewing distance of the thing you'd know....Over an hour we're there.....I'm getting talked over(I'm a girl, no brain obviously). The guy is just pissing me off more and more and more, I just want to reach over the counter, pick up my laptop and smash it into the ground and yell "Well there's your problem, the piece of shit is in 4 pieces!!"......finally I get this "We're going to run diagnostics.....anything on here you couldn't stand to lose?" No, I say, I backed everything up myself. I don't need to pay you $100 to do that. A look at Brandy with a cocked eyebrow, he just shakes his head to no(he was so mad a silent head shake was a blessing)...a piece of paper comes flying across the counter for Brandy to sign(remember, I'm a girl, I can't operate an ink pen) and that was that. I walked out of Best Buy without my laptop, without knowing what was wrong, how long Best Buy was going to have it, what they were going to do, if they were shipping it to Sony, and an estimate of how long that would take.
(P.S.I'm not sure what's up with the condition of my baby being listed as 'cracked' on the piece of paper...but um, it wasn't...you better remember that and not fix an imaginary problem.)

You seriously had to be there. I'm talking rude to the extreme.
The quickest way to get my bitchdar flying is to completely ignore me and what I'm saying just because I'm a woman. Yes, I do have a brain in my pretty little head, and, sometimes, I even manage to put together complete thoughts and sentences. *Gasp*
Another thing that'll get my panties in a bunch real quick like--go ahead and act like I'm inconveniencing you, making you do your job and all. Heaven forbid you do what you're paid to do. The world just might explode.

So, yah, Geek Squad in the Jackson Best Buy, YOU FAIL. Your customer service blows. Maybe you should work on some people skills.....I mean, I'm sorry you have to wear those pants pulled up to your armpits and all, but it really isn't my fault.

On a positive note, we did walk out with some RAM for the desktop, so I've been able to get CS4 loaded on here and get some work done :o)

In other news...... ;o)
Did yall see that?? There...just behind you, over the tree....it was a flying pig!!!
Just lookie what I caught....

Brandy. Reading Eclipse. Score.
And nothing burst into flames.

Oooh, and lookie what he brought home today!

Alee had already eaten Jacob)

Yum. Chocolate. New Moon. Win-Win situation!

Speaking of New Moon, I am less than excited abut the soundtrack :/
I just can not get excited about that list of songs. At all. True, I hated the Twilight soundtrack in the beginning, but at least it had hope. This one is going to take a miracle. And maybe several Long Island Iced Teas.
And what's up with the black Volvo Suckmit? Srsly? You are brave, I'll give you that. Black Volvo? Do I squeal in a pitch only dogs can hear when I see a black Volvo? No. That's for Shiny silver Volvos. You know, like the one Edward drives. Black? Ppppfffffttttt.
Whatever Suckmit.

My rambling has run out, I guess.....I keep finding myself opening another tab and getting stuck at Facebook :P

I don't have a problem....I swear!

Brandy says I wear my obsessions. I like to think my clothing choices reflect my interests. I have my 'decent' shirts that I wear when we go some where nice, and the really dressy something for the occasional occasion that warrants it. But for every day wear, trips to WalBangers, hanging at MaMaws, I want to be comfortable, and wear things I like. That includes the oodles of Twilight shirts and jewelry I have, Death Note shirts, Kingdom Hearts shirts.....if I like it chances are good I can wear it! Adding to the list today, a Fangtasia Shirt :o)

I love it :D And just lemme say, I am glad I bought a Large. If that's a large I'd hate to see a small.I have more I plan on buying....a Merlotte's shirt, another Fangtasia one that has Life Begins at Night(they didn't have one of those when I ordered mine), a hat for Brandy.....

Amanda let me borrow her Sookie Stackhouse books....which I finished and immediately bought. *LOVE* them. Of course, I plowed through them the first time...now I'm rereading them, taking my time, enjoying them. They really are good. I suggest reading them. And watching True Blood....it's good, even though I'd say it's soft porn. Not so much season 2 as season 1, though.

Oooh ooh, I saw some New Moon merchandise---YES!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited and can't wait until I can start buying stuff! I am beyond excited about the movie! Alee and I spent I don't know how long playing around on the NM Site today! http://www.newmoonthemovie.com/ It is soooo cool! We played in the Cullen House, reading about everyone, fangirl squealing about everything, and then we headed over to the La Push Reservation, read everything, fangirl squealed about about everything. Is it November yet??

Did I mention I was doing Battle of the Creative Teams? I'm playing for PGD, of course.
Here's my LO for the first challenge

We had to do white space,
coordinate our colors.
as an added bonus, we
all picked outdoor
photos.

Voting for round one just wrapped up and we're working on round 2. Of course, I'm miserable...I always am when I do these things. I just hate being told what I *have* to do.

Ohmahgawd....Gabe's supply list. 10 boxes of crayons. 10. That just blows my mind. Why? Why does every kid have to bring 10 boxes of 24 crayons? 2 different kinds of markers, 6-12 glue sticks, and then they want a supply fee! If I have to send money for supplies why am I buying 240 crayons, packs of cardstock, baby wipes, germ-x......And when did they stop using the fat kindergarten pencils? Did I miss something? We didn't have to go through this with Alee--we sent her to Abundant Life Chrisitan School for kindergarten, and they supplied everything. If we could afford the $400/month, she'd still be going, and Gabe too. The whole thing just isn't sitting well with me. I have no problem sending what my kids need for school, but I'm not supplying everyone else's kid.

And with that, I'm off I suppose. I have reading to do :P

Summer's here!

I know I've been horrible about blogging lately. I have an excuse, seriously! School is winding down(tomorrow is the last day-1/2 day at that) and we've been getting ready for summer. And I've picked up a nasty cold. We all have it, you should hear the kiddos coughing...well, maybe not. It'll keep you up at night! I seriously spent the majority of the day cleaning the house yesterday(and it was all undone in 4.9 seconds by my absolutely evil children). It got destroyed over the long weekend with us all being home and in and out all day just dumping stuff. Chowder has decided the mop is his mortal enemy and must be destroyed at all costs, so cleaning the floor was next to impossible. And then he decided the wet floor was the Indy 500 track and ran(or should I say slid and fell) laps around the kitchen. Pure joy, I tell ya.

Hmm....lots to cover as this is a catch up post. First up, CT and Scrapping stuffs!

I've got a new CT! I'm really excited about it! Hazel Olive Designs--she's got some really awesome stuff! These are some LO's I've done with her stuff--which, by the way, I'm finding myself scrapping way outside my norm, and I am so loving it!!

Friday (5/28) at TLP and SA is a little beauty, Backyard Bliss by Rachel, Gina & Kate(award winning combo)....here's my LO with it, doesn't even do the kit justice!

Now, let's move on to....NEW MOON! O.M.G. Wonderful, awesome, drool worthy photos coming out of Italy today. I am so jealous of those lucky people in Italy that are getting these shots! Now, for the record, let me state; Yes, Rob is easy on the eyes. I don't think he's as hot as some other folks do, but he's not hard to look at. Now...these here pictures, DAMN! I absolutely *love* that little V area thingy around the hips--I think it's so sexy(and it drives me crazy that Brandy has it).....anywho, here are two of my faves from the ones popping up today.

Just look at her running to Edward...awesomeness!
(and check out the sweet man hips)

Whoa! that lip lock is HOT!
I am so excited for this movie! As super jazzed as I was for Twilight I'm even more so for New Moon. Everything I've seen is just right. And, if you're honest with yourself you can admit, Twilight totally sucked. Am I saying I hated it? Absolutely not. I loved the movie, saw it countless times and own 2 copies of it. But, as far as movies goes, it just....lacked. I have very high expectations for New Moon--and everything I've read and seen is just raising those expectations. Is it November yet?? :0)

I've spent a lot of today bumming. Tomorrow we had plans to go to Memphis and meet up with Sherrie and Scott. I've been looking forward to it for 2 weeks. But it's just not going to happen. My aunt had to go in and have a hysterectomy. Seeing as how she was to be my babysitter tomorrow...well, yeah, that was the end of that. Totally bites :(

So well, I guess that's it...I've gotten distracted(Death Note, I can not resist) and this has been sitting here for about 45 minutes or so...I had the "Oh yeah, I was blogging" light click on :P

Oooh, totally forgot...I did a bit of revamping last night and added a cute little music player to the blog(cause I love music and must have it!) It's set to auto play, does that bother anyone? I guess I could set it to where you have to push play, or you could hit stop? I don't know? Totally stupid having it anyway?
