You knew this was coming, right?
I've been working on my "review" off and on.
We've had family stuffs to do and it's eaten
up a lot of my time.
We went Friday night to see New Moon...we had tickets for the 9:50 show.
Everything earlier was sold out.
And the day after, too.
You would not believe the stack of papers where people had bought
their tickets from Fandango.
Monstrous pile. Srsly.
Let's start with the soundtrack with the movie.
I like it a bit better now that I've
seen the movie. I'm more
partial to the score than I am the actual soundtrack,
but it doesn't make my ears bleed quite as bad
as it did when I first listened to it.
It'll never make my favorites list.
Things I didn't like in the movie:
The car.
I understand Volvo gave them a different car.
I understand Chris Weitz not wanting to paint it silver
and try to pass it off as the same as in Twilight.
I understand, really I do.
Doesn't mean I like it.
The birthday party.
Sigh. I just wasn't feeling it.
Bella's cut wasn't doing it for me. Carlisle and Bella
were like super duper cozy while he stitched her up.
I wanted the story about Edward and his mother.
Jasper's wig.
Poor boy.
I'd have put up a fight if they tried to put that on my head.
Not enough Emmett.
Srsly.
Srsly.
There could have been way more Emmett. Even if it was just a photo of
him on the wall or something. Just more.
him on the wall or something. Just more.
The cliff dive.
I was disappointed.
The big crashing wave--didn't feel it at all.
The Edward visions.
They weren't bad. They weren't good, either.
Sorta cheesy, especially the one in the water, after Bella
dives off the cliff.....kinda like dead fishes in the water.
The porsche.
Ok, not the car so much as the bad green screened drive.
Edward's topless reveal.
Um, am I the only one who thinks his
nippys were a little off? Methinks they
should have started the airbrushing a little lower
down so his man boobs didn't look like
they were dragging the floor.
And what up with the "scar" around lefty?
It looks like someone ate some Edward nipple for lunch.
Demitri and Felix.
Yah. So not what I pictured.
Disappointment.

Alice's Vision of Vampy Bella.
Um, WTF?
My exact words during the movie were
"ohmahgawd. Srsly? Are you effing kidding me?"
Not right. Downright silly.
Where was Victoria?
I was disappointed we saw so little of her.
Things I liked in the movie:
The mirror and Edward's sparklies.
Perfection. It was good.
Bella's gray hair.
Bella's gray hair.
Loved that convo between her and Charlie.
Loved how she jumped up to check for
that gray hair. I giggled.
Alee leaned over and whispered "That is so you, Momma."
Alice.
Everything Alice.
I love Alice. Loved how she jumped over
the rails to give Bella her present. Loved the witty, sarcastic
Alice comments "As soon as you put the dog out"....
how can you not love Alice??
The nighttime patrons of the arts:
I loved the way the painting
came to life. Not so much the outfits, but
that's besides the point.
Dear Alice.
Time Passes.
O.M.G.
I *loved* the emails.
Maybe my favorite part.
Jake.
Good stuff. He had some awesome Jakeish lines-
"Age is just a number baby"..... too bad he's
a kid. Srsly. He's like really 17.
In real life. Srsly.
The garage.
I loved the whole little thing with
Jake and Bella fixing the bikes.
Jessica.
I really like Jessica this go round.
"Hey! What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Movie night with Bel-la..."
Gold.
Face Punch.
Hahahahahaha! Good stuff!
Hunting the wolves.
A.K.A. How perfect was Victoria?
Perfection. Perfect perfection.
The way Victoria should have looked in Twilight.
I loved her. I loved watching the pack chase her.
The Pack.
I was slightly impressed with the wolves.
I pictured them taller, but all in all
I was quite pleased.
Emily.
They nailed it. The end.
Jane.
I admit, at first I balked at Dakota Fanning
playing Jane. I couldn't make it
work in my head.
But I was wrong. She was good.
The vote.
Emmett. He was there...I kinda didn't notice anything
else about this scene.
But I'm glad they included it.
The proposal.
Dahdahduuuuuuuuuuum.....
Gah! I really did like the part, but was it
necessary to leave me in my
seat with my mouth hanging open like that?
So yes, I loved New Moon. Even more than I
thought I would. And we've seen it twice.
